Spend time in a traditional Manyatta (village), learn about Maasai customs, participate in daily activities like cow milking and fire-making, and enjoy authentic storytelling and dance performances. This immersive experience offers genuine cultural exchange while supporting community-based tourism.
Itinerary
D1: Nairobi - Maasai Manyatta. Welcome ceremony. Village activities.
Early departure from Nairobi (approx. 4-5 hour drive to Narok/Kajiado region). Arrive at Maasai Manyatta, greeted with traditional song and dance. Settle into your basic but authentic Manyatta hut. Participate in afternoon activities: herding cattle, building enclosures, or beadwork with Maasai women. Evening storytelling around the fire. Dinner and overnight.
D2: Sunrise over the savanna. Morning activities. Return to Nairobi.
Sunrise over the savanna with tea/coffee. Participate in morning chores: milking cows, fetching water, or helping with traditional medicine gathering. Learn about Maasai history, warfare, and ceremonies from elders. Late morning farewell ceremony, drive back to Nairobi with arrival by late afternoon.
